How to avoid fake job offers and recruitment scams in the UAE

Fake job offers cost workers money and time. Knowing the warning signs protects you and your family.

Warning signs

  • Someone asks you to pay a fee for the job, visa or medical
  • The company cannot show a trade licence or office address
  • The offer comes only through a personal phone number with no company details
  • The salary is far higher than normal for the trade
  • You are pushed to decide or pay immediately

Protect yourself

  • Never send money to get a job
  • Ask for the company name, licence number and office address, then check them
  • Keep your passport with you. In the UAE, employers are not allowed to hold workers' passports
  • Read your offer letter and contract before you sign

If something feels wrong

Stop contact and report it to the Ministry of Human Resources and Emiratisation (MOHRE). Qasr Al Bahr never charges candidates any fee. If someone asks you for money in our name, call our office.
